About me

LocationAlexandria, Virginia, United States
IntroductionWelcome! What you will find here is the story of my experiences while racewalking marathons, & since 2012 riding up to 100 kilometer bicycle rides, along with detours into Butler basketball, cataract surgery, travels (such as the Caribbean Islands Cruise Marathon) and whatever else seems like it should be posted here. Having completed 6 Full Marathons & 27 Halfs since 2005 it’s time to focus on improving my racewalk form and speed doing shorter races. My last Full was the Marine Corps Marathon 31/10/2010 (2500 years after Pheidippides run to Athens). MCM was not any tougher than my five prior Fulls in San Francisco, just a nice finale. In 2009 I debated whether to do LLS fundraising - that ended with Bob Raleigh’s report he has acute myelogenous leukemia. Then I got better acquainted with Caleb Schneck, who at age 6 is also fighting leukemia. For me TNT/LLS fundraising is the best way to help support their treatment, since LLS helps fund the clinical study Bob was in at Siteman, and Caleb's treatment at Johns Hopkins. Your support of my participation in Team In Training helps Caleb, Bob and advances LLS's mission. Racewalking & cycling to save lives.
