InterestsPolitics, music, sailing, art, the usual and then some.
Favorite moviesToo many to list, but "Paul" gets a recent (compared to most on my list) shout-out. Best alien encounter movie ever, at least best non-shock and awe technofeast alien encounter flick. Favorite scenes from movies: 1. Gene Kelly, "Singing in the Rain," movie of the same name. 2. Gene Kelly, "Gotta Dance," Singing in the Rain. 3. The Huggies chase, "Raising Arizona." 4. Jack Nicholson's "Sailor wanna humphump routine" in "As Good as it Gets." 5. Meg Ryan in "The Women;" deserves an Oscar for best comeback from bad plastic surgery with good role.
Favorite musicTRANCE is the craze of the year for me. But I still rock the Allman Brothers before the deaths; Fillmore East was a landmark album in the history of late-20th century modern. That wasn't Southern Rock, that was a blues/rock/jass fusion still unequaled. Chicago Transit Authority. "Where We All Belong," Marshall Tucker Band. "Kind of Blue," Miles Davis. Early Bela Flek. And I dig all kinds of 80s and 1-hit wonder 90s tunes. Without lyrics I can dance to hip hop or house all night, or until my vital organs give out. Just don't dig all the bragging in the poetry, and modern with a message and beat is hard to pay attention to because of media interference.
Favorite books"The Fabric of the Cosmos," Brian Green. "Tom Sawyer," Mark Twain. "The Wrecking Crew," Thomas Frank (not to be confused with a Dean Martin movie by the same name; there's an idea for a remake).

When you open your eyes underwater, do you ever worry that you'll drown?

No. I worry more about drowning when I want to open my mouth and BREATHE underwater.
