| Interests | I was born January ll, 1945 in Madison, Wis. the oldest son of six children, who were always referred to as the "six little Millers." I grew up in a small Wisconsin town called Weyerhauser, I was a real boy,always riding my bike, climbing trees, fishing, playing cowboys and Indians with my brother David and picking on my sisters, I got into trouble a lot. I remember mom always chased me because I would run around the neighborhood, I was too small, and mom was afraid for me. Finally she got mad and tied my bib overhalls to the clothes line so I could not run. Well guess what! I took off all my clothes and ran away anyway, when mom caught me and asked why I always ran away, I simply stated "Because I like to go fast". This statement stayed with me the rest of my life, fast cars were my passion. When I was 10, the family moved to Herreid, S.D. I loved Herreid and fastly became obsessed with horses, I worked for free at Archie Mitzel's ranch just to be around the horses. I eventually became good enough at riding to break horses for Archie, I was pretty proud of that, Unfortunately, we did not stay in Herreid, and ended up in Manchester, New Hampshire, but I was restless there and as soon as I turned 17, I talked dad into signing for me to join the Marines like him. This was my calling, I was focused on being the best Marine I could be and I think I was! |
