Introduction | I am mom to a perfect baby boy, Charlie, who was born May 24, 2010. I knew before he arrived that he would be born with Spina Bifida. For Charlie, this means his legs are largely paralyzed and we deal with a few other, basically minor, medical issues. I miss my sweet first born, Charlie's guardian angel, Elijah Vance Krouse, who went much too soon to be with God. Elijah was born November 9, 2008 when I was only 23 1/2 weeks pregnant...he was too little to survive. I suffered from severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome, which threatened my life. I want to write in a diary, but I never seem to - so I am writing here instead about my life, being a mom, now a single mom, and the blessings and challenges that come along the way - and most especially the story of Charlie. Professionally, I am dedicated full time to increasing organ and tissue donation through public educaiton. Donate Life!! |
