Introduction Scoppa writes about music and the popular arts, edits music mags and sites and has worked in the music business, primarily in A&R. Over the years, he's contributed to virtually every major music publication, including Rolling Stone, Creem, Rock, Fusion, Crawdaddy! and Phonograph Record, while also doing stints as the editor of Hits, Cash Box and Music Connection. When not writing about music, he was helping to create it at Mercury Records, A&M, Arista, Zoo, Discovery and Sire. Scoppa, who authored the books The Byrds and The Rock People, received a Grammy nomination for the liner notes to Rhino's Little Feat box set, Hotcakes and Outtakes (2000). Presently, Scoppa is a senior editor at Hits and industry-news site hitsdailydouble.com. His outlets include Mix, Paste and Uncut.
