| Introduction | Jeff is a long time resident of Sisters, Oregon. He has lived here since he was 5 years old. In 2002 after several hospital stays and abdominal surgeries he was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. Subsequently he has been in and out of the hospital with multiple surgeries where approximately 20” of his large intestine and 8” of his small intestine have been removed. He has spent a total of 28 days over the last two years in the hospital. He has continued to struggle with the ravages of this disease. He has lost 52 lbs in the last nine months. He was again hospitalized in February of this year for 6 more days, and has been referred to Oregon Health Science University in Portland, Oregon for further evaluation. Jeff graduated from Sisters HS in 2006 and in spite of his poor health is working on a college degree. After so many years of bearing this huge medical burden we have formed a “Jeffrey Minke Crohn's Disease Trust” to help him and his family seek the additional medical support needed.
