| Introduction | Everyone is a hero in their own story. I often think I would be better off playing the narrator. More fun that way. I could then perform the cool voiceover, like James Earl Jones. I have made many poor decisions, like all people. I guess that proves I am human after all. People always start out with the best intentions, but no intentions are ever purely noble. When I was younger I wanted to be a postman, because I thought they got to go around the world. Now I know they end up going down the road, to the pub. Maybe I got it right the first time around. There used to be a time when I was so comfortable with writing I could drop an essay in a under a mug of coffee, depending on the brew. Perhaps when I decided to make a career out of it, it stopped being fun. Seven years of study. You map out your entire career on a dream. Eat, sleep and sweat towards an idealistic pursuit. And then toss it away after you lost the drive to take another step towards it. I sometimes think Destiny is calling, but I’ve left him on hold, listening to “Girl from Ipanema.” Perhaps its time to grow a pair |
