| Introduction | I grew up in suburban Chicago with my fraternal twin sister, Ann, and my artist-brother, Marc. Except for when I went through my musician phase, I've never wanted to be anything but a writer since the age of six. I worked as a copywriter, proofreader, and editor for many years, and I just completed five years of teaching composition at the university level (whew!). Sometime during my teaching, I was given the opportunity to write a column for a local newspaper here in central Illinois, and I wrote about my life as a mother, an eBay addict, an owner of four dogs, and a plain old (sort of) human being. Until I find my next real job, I'm home writing poetry, spending way too much time on eBay, and feeding the dogs more biscuits than they need.... |
