| Introduction | I believe that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he rose the third day, according to the Scriptures. I have been a Christian for about thirty years. My fields of study are the Bible and theology. I believe in the absolute authority of the Bible. The Church and Christians should submit to the word of God. No Christian should submit to anything in a Church that is not in the Bible and no Christian should submit to a pastor that is not submitted to the authority of the Bible. According to the Word of God the purpose of the church is to teach so that the members can grow in knowledge and to grow spiritually. A Christian cannot grow spiritually without knowledge. Paul speaks about the doctrines several times and the importance of doctrines. If one does not know the doctrines one will not be able to discern the fruit and will be easily lead astray by wolves in sheep clothing. Rick Warren of the Purpose Driven Church, Joel Rainey of the Mid Maryland Baptist Association and Dan Hyun pastor of the Village Church are examples of wolves in sheep's clothing. |
