| Introduction | Growing up in Hong Kong, martial arts have always been a part of my childhood repertoire (thanks to Mr. Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and many flamboyant Kung Fu dramas). My first experience with martial arts is Kyokushin Karate, a traditional bare knuckle style of stand-up combat. After several years of competitive fighting, I decided to tackle a whole new game: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Bjj is so completely different to everything I have learned about martial arts. All of a sudden my static world of kicking and punching is replaced with foreign elements of submission, mount, guard, etc. So, commence my journey in bjj. |
