Introduction I am author of SHEPHERD: A MEMOIR about dreams, loss, fatherhood, and operating a sheep farm for ten years in Appalachian Ohio. It was a 2015 Finalist for the Ohioana Book Award in Nonfiction. My essays have appeared in Brevity, Chautauqua, Fourth Genre, Orion, River Teeth, and Utne Reader. My blog Draft No. 4 is for readers, writers, and students of writing, with a special focus on creative nonfiction.
