| Introduction | I come from a large family of 3 brothers and 5 sisters. Was born in El Salvador,a country that during the decade of the 80's was aflicted with a bloody civil war that took the lives of more than 80,000 people mostly salvadorans. The civil war formally ended in 1992, thanks to the active participation of the salvadoran society as well from international support. With the signing of the Peace agreement of Chaputepec Mexico between the Salvadoran Government and the FMLN, El Salvador enter into new process in which the consolidation of the peace became the main concern for old and new generation of salvadorans. As a University Student was a member of the Student Union. One of my main concerns was to raise conciousness about the critical conditions of injustice that prevailed in El Salvador during the time of the conflict. My activism at the University was motivated for the need to do something to help alliviate the suffering of the people of El Salvador. This was a moral decision taken following my own concience. On 1997 migrated to Canada seeking for protection. Here, my wife and I are bringing up 3 canadian born children for whom we have dedicated our lives. |
