IntroductionThe first thing I need to point is that I’m totally new to blogging! I’m looking forward to seeing comments from anyone who reads our Tinnitus blog, & of course the entries from my fellow bloggers, Gemma & John. So... I’m married with two children aged 7 & 9. I live in a small town in Bedfordshire where I work as a Money Adviser at my local CAB (Citizens Advice Bureau). I've been very lucky in life so far – I grew up in a loving family, enjoyed school, university & (most of) my jobs. The only blot on the landscape is my Tinnitus. I started noticing occasional squeaks & whistles in my ears in my teens, but they always went away. Then about 7 years ago I became aware that the noises didn’t go away any more. At the time the children were pre-school age & I was commuting into London 4 days a week. I was busy & tired a lot of the time, so I think perhaps that was why the Tinnitus decided to stick around. Who knows? I hope that one day it will decide to go away! But in the meantime I am keeping up to date with research & I know I have the option to seek treatment if it becomes unbearable.
