| Introduction | In my 2nd career building a t-shirt biz based on local pride. I grew tired of the "Yankee Hater" themes most other 'unlicensed' Boston sportswear offered. Instead, I flipped the focus back on New England pride & humor. Hence, the name SupahFan, a step ahead of passive fans. Many designs work on subtlties you'd only get if you're immersed in New England culture. I also focus on sustainable Main-Street retailing, helping small businesses compete vs box stores & malls. This strategy keeps commerce alive in the downtown shopping districts (consider arguments against Home Depot or Wal-Mart). Independent retailers make each town unique & these tend to carry local artists, craftsmen and musicians work the chains won't support. Malls look the same across the U.S. but New England towns are old so have more to offer. My company works with corporate chains too, focusing on their involvement in our communities. For instance, the Boston Globe, WROR & WEEI have partnered on some projects like fundraising for charities like The Jimmy Fund or ALS-MA, We intend to develop the business with these core principles, and hope you support it by buying shirts as often as possible! |
