| Introduction | Born in the village of Parang Puting, Kota Bharu, Kelantan in June 1948. Educated at Parang Puting National School (1955-1958), Merbau English School (1959-1961), Sultan Ismail College (1962-1968), University of Malaya (1969-1973), University of Reading (1974-1978). Appointed a lecturer at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (1979-1982), promoted to Associate Professor in 1983 and Professor in 1991 and Professor Emeritus in 2008. |
