IntroductionBorn in Puerto Rico and educated in the public school system of the island, he came to the United States after finishing college in 1983, and have been in the U.S. ever since. Dr. Valentin-Castanon is an Elder in the United Methodist Church. He is currently serving as the Frederick District Superintendent in the Baltimore Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church. He obtained his Master in Divinity from Drew Theological Seminary in Madison, NJ. He earned his Doctor of Ministry from Wesley Theological Seminary, he obtained a Certificate in Advance Studies in Theology at St. Mary's Seminary and University-The Ecumenical Institute of Theology. Dr. Valentin-Castanon is pursuing a Ph.D. in theology from the Graduate Theological Foundation. He has worked in various ministries of the United Methodist Church in the areas of public policy, and racial justice and reconciliation.
