IntroductionWe travel so many roads...Take my life, for example. I'm a knit and crochet teacher-designer masquerading as a history professor. If this strikes you as strange, think how much stranger it would be if I didn't tell anyone and simply showed up at faculty meetings with graph paper and wool. I teach at Wayne State University; I also teach people to knit and crochet at my working fiber studio, Artisan Knitworks LLC in St. Clair Shores, MI (www.artisanknitworks.com), which is a really cool place. I love my life. I also love cats, books, wool, sheep and wool festivals, and people who try to tell the truth. I write books and articles about women and law, the early nation, and a lot of other things. In this blog, I'm going to take you along on whatever road I happen to be traveling. I do this selfishly. It helps to sort things out -- but some part of it might have broader value. So get ready for sheep, politics, fiber festivals, dye pots, history books, poems, and a 12-year-old knitter named Alex. It's life in the slow lane, but a really fine ride so far. If this gets boring, tell me.
