| Introduction | I am Joseph Kiran; I was born in Hindu family and raised with the belief in many gods, but that did not satisfy or quench my thirst to find real God. I then started reading Bible, since I had many catholic friends and they would often tell me about Jesus Christ and his mission. I adopted Christianity as my new faith. If Jesus is god then why was he crying at the last hour; 'My God, My God…’, these were the ordinary questions disturbing me very often. I started to study about Islam and Muslims, but very often I got books against Islam. I had an impression that Muslims are ruthless creatures and barbarians. One day, I was travelling in a bus and found a Muslim boy reading some Islamic literature, I borrowed from him and started reading; that really spirited my conscience and gave answers to all my questions. The boy advised me to read Quran with understanding to understand what my Lord wants me to be. I studied Islam without looking at Muslims' behavior, but by reading Quran and studying the life of beloved prophet Muhammed (SAWS). |
