| Introduction | Loving my life in Iowa. Grew up in the Chicago area, as did my children. My sweet husband is my hothouse flower from southern California, happily a midwesterner now over 30 years. Lifestyle change took some adjusting for everyone; I relish the slower pace, the relaxed approach to schooling and activities, and the natural beauty that surrounds us in our semi-country setting. DH loves his job which gives him the opportunity to make a difference. The kids? They have experiences and opportunities that are different from the ones they had before. They can write their own blog! I am working in my field again, after the blessing of being able to be home with my kids almost their whole lives. Now I am so grateful for where God is using me, as a hospice chaplain. After adjusting to working outside the home these last few years, I am joyfully getting back to quilting. At the beginning of 2011, I felt the nudge to work on my ability to persevere - in a lot of areas of my life! I LOVE change - but what about "not change?" What about running the race to the finish, as Paul tells us? (He didn't say anything about winning, just finishing!) So, here I go... |
