| Introduction | Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Allen began illustrating professionally at a young age. While still in high school, his drawing ability was noticed by a creative director from Ogilvy Mather. Subsequently from age 15, he began to work as a freelance storyboard artist and cartoonist for O&M, which led to a flood of freelance work at other top ad agencies.
