I-witness
My blogs
| Introduction | I'm a Canadian, currently an Alberta public servant, trained as an educator, who's written freelance on political topics for 30 years. The downturn in the economy--which led on an embargo on freelance contributions for many newspapers--was one of the factors that launched me into blogging. I began with an article I had ready for President Obama's February visit to Canada, and have continued with almost daily postings since. I grew up in Calgary, that most American of Canadian cities. For the past 40 years I've lived in Edmonton, a very different city, less 8 years spent in other Canadian regions, and two in Europe. I plan to continue daily postings until May 3, the 90th birthday of Pete Seeger, an American and citizen of the world I want to honor. After that, I may cut back to weekly postings, to put time/energy into other projects and topics including 3-4 other blogs I'm ready to begin. |
