Occupation Dance Teacher, Educator and choreographer
Location Washington State, United States
Introduction After completing my professional dance training, I ventured to Italy and set up an opportunity for the local children in a village to learn how to dance. Over coming the language barrier brought new skills of adaptation and communication to my dance teaching. On my return to the UK, I opened my own dance school and taught many adult and young dancers. Alongside this, I taught part time for a vocational college for the Performing Arts which eventually lead to a full-time position, enabling me to pursue my dance teacher and leadership development. My involvement spanned over twenty years and lead to becoming the director of Theatre Arts at the school. Ten years ago, my family and I moved to the USA. I am currently teaching for an established dance academy and pre-professional ballet company, I am the programs and outreach coordinator, I also serve on the Board of Directors. My experiences have all been so varied bringing new challenges and opportunities. Through my knowledge, experiences and passion, I have always aimed to inspire, support and encourage my students to believe in themselves and reach their goals!
