Introduction I have the unique benefit of having had two primary influences in my development as a survivalist. First, my father, having been in the Army and serving in Korea, as well as being an avid hunter and outdoors-man, wanted his sons to be able to survive in any situation. As a young child, my father told me that one day, without notice, he would take me out to the woods and that I would have to survive on my own and make my own way back. Although he never did so, he repeated the warning throughout my childhood and through my young adulthood. Along the way, he made sure that I was acquiring the skills that I needed to survive in any situation. Through my own passion and experiences, I have continued to grow those skills over my life. My other great influence as a survivalist, was my grandfather. My grandfather was an ordained minister and believed that the end of the world was soon to come. He gave me an interest in the study of the end of the world, called Eschatology, and although my early years were spent studying the Bible, in Greek and Hebrew, as well as modern translations, over time I began to research other cultures such as the Mayans, Hopi, Egyptians, Sumerians, and others.
