Introduction	I've been working in the food industry since I was old enough to have a job. I actually tried to start working at a restaurant when I was 14, but they told me to come back in a year, so I did. Since then, my passion for food has grown and now it's borderline obsession. I still work in the food industry, specifically with school food, hence the glorified lunch lady title. I love to cook, especially using food produced and grown locally. I'm not a vegetarian, but I don't eat meat very frequently, so you will see a lot of vegetarian dishes, as well as some delicious meat dishes prepared with delicious meats from farms in NY state. Looking forward to sharing my creations with you. I say creations, because I don't really use recipes. I also hope to use this blog to feature improvements I am making to the school food program in NYC. Most recently, salad bars in elementary schools! People said it wouldn't work, but it is!
Interests	Cooking, walking around Brooklyn with my dog Suzie, entertaining our cats Brookie-lynn and Betty Stuy and spending time with Rob!

Favorite books	Currently still reading What to Eat by Marion Nestle.
