IWA is a Non-Government Organization/Non-Profit Organization and Non-religious. ENGLISH shall be the FIRST, WORKING LANGUAGE of the IWA. JAPANESE the SECOND. Membership open for Japanese who have lived/worked/studied outside Japan for more than 3 months and who have a sound, working knowledge of English. Japanese who are married to a foreign national. Any foreign woman with a working knowledge of English. Any foreign national married to a Japanese national. We also maintain a blog on life in Akita at http://akitainfo.blogspot.com
