| Introduction | Trixie Jack is a self-identified Queer Gender-Rebel (and most often identified by others as a lesbian or bisexual woman) living in Maine and splitting hir time between the rural college town of Farmington and the suburban Kittery. A women's and gender studies major with an anthropology minor, Trixie spends most of hir time thinking about queer rights within Maine and the country; ze is co-chair of the Alliance (a GLBTQQA group at hir university) and works as a volunteer with Equality Maine. Ze's very excited about the same-sex marriage bill recently passed and signed by Gov. Baldacci, and hopes eventually ze'll find a nice queer to settle down with and marry. Trixie favors creative rather than destructive rebellion, but will revolt if there's no other way to get things done. Ze plans on someday adopting two kittens and naming them Laurie (short for Laurentide) and Cordie (short for Cordilleran), because there is nothing more awesome than naming your pets after prehistoric ice sheets. A prolific reader and WoW player, Trixie uses the words "wicked," "awesome," "epic," and "fail" far more than any human should. |
