Introduction	I always watched and followed animals and birds to see how they lived from my youth. ”My fascination with birds and anmials, with their diversity of color, behavior and life strategies, inspire me to portray them, hoping that by so doing, I will inspire my viewers to look more closely and grow to appreciate these small ones around us, to help create and enhance the habitats in which they... and we... all live." A desire to depict them led me to colored pencil and its myriad of ways to move pigments, to make the initially dry medium move and flow on paper or other substrates. Its intensity, saturation and ease of blending, allow me to have great freedom in expressing my love of creatures, landscapes and the natural world. Recent shows include: the Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA) District Chapter 201 Exhibition at DIVA Gallery, Spring 2009 (First place award), CPSA International Exhibit, Seattle, WA (2008), CPSA District Chapter Exhibit, Oregon City, OR (2008), Active Life Physical Therapy Center in Eugene (2008-09), Peace Health Medical Center (Eugene), 2007, and scientific illustrators show in Ithaca, New York (2008).
