| Introduction | I wanted to be a writer from about seven years old, when I wrote my first short story. I was editor of my high school newspaper in Florida. I started my first novel at 14 years old, my second at 23, and on and on. Although largely unpublished, I am still writing every day. I worked at The Seattle Times for 20 years, from 1982 to 2002. When I retired, I started my own editing business, I Love to Edit, and I became a part-time news editor for a national publication. In the fall of 2007, Seattle Central Community College recruited me to teach journalism. I moved to California in 2009, where I now reside. I am currently employed part time at Soka University, writing yet another book and preparing to start a PhD. |
