About me

Gender Female
Location Concord, MA, United States
Introduction Jennie-Tales is a collection of my stories, characters and illustrations that serve as a vacation whenever I want to take one. Illustrators and storytellers who seem to have landed in my subconscious - Bill Peet of course. The Pinkish, Purpleish, Bluish Egg is an example of the creativity that is so lacking in much of our low-reaching children's lit. Also read a lot of fairy tales, Bullfinch's Mythology, and Shel Silverstein who showed all his little readers that a line drawing is more mesmerizing than CGI, any day (times 1,000,000).
Interests Telling stories (not the fibbing kind...well, that's not the kind I tell the most anyway) :) practicing piano and practicing yoga...similar activities as it turns out.
Favorite Movies City Lights, The Princess Bride, Mostly Martha (the german version...in fact the american version may be my least favorite movie) Roman Holiday, which I used to think was just cheesy, but then began to see Audrey's face as she looked at Gregory Peck--that's the story.
Favorite Music Anything made with real instruments--I appreciate the human accomplishment that is synthetic music. It doesn't change the fact that it is terrible.
Favorite Books 'Till We Have Faces, Life of Pie, Waiting for April, A Prayer for Owen Meany, The Princess Bride--unfortunately not by S.Morgenstern...

Never mind the turtle. Don't you think you're sure to win?

Never underestimate the turtle, or hares for that matter.
