| Introduction | I've been a journalist, a PR executive, a freelancer, and now I'm a marketer and - my newest title - blogger. But all of these are mere echoes of the writing goal I've dreamed of since I was 7: becoming a novelist. Now that I've written a few novels, I think "becoming" is the operative word in that phrase. Even the most famous authors - if they're true to their art, rather than writing to a formula - are always in the process of becoming. Becoming a better writer. A better storyteller. A more accomplished wordsmith. A creator of richer characters, richer settings, richer motifs. And, in the process, if they're lucky, they discover more than their stories. They discover themselves.
