| Introduction | As a youngster, I listened to the stories told by family members and older people, and I wished I was that interesting. I have experienced more life and have learned to cherish the stories that I do have. I also realized that a lot of the people I listened to didn't have lives of constant adventure. What they had was the ability to take a small anecdote and create a thrilling or funny story by timing, exaggeration and delivery. More importantly, I have learned how much fun it is to make up stories. After several years of writing, attending conferences, obtaining critiques, attending workshops, and learning from other writers every chance I get, I feel I'm ready to start telling stories to the world. |
