| Introduction | Welcome to our blog! We are excited to have this new and dynamic platform to compliment our Facebook and Twitter pages where we can celebrate the wonderful work of the children and practitioners at Little Barn Owls. Our nursery is for children aged 0-5 years and is based on a working farm just north of Horsham, West Sussex, UK. We run a farm school for children, have woodland areas for exploration and a large garden area abundant with wildlife, vegetable patches, places to reflect, climb, swing and research. Little Barn Owls follows an enquiry based learning approach inspired by the Infant-Toddler Centres and Preschools of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia in Italy. At the heart of the approach is the powerful image of the child. Our educators do not see children as empty vessels that require filling with facts. Rather they see children as full of potential, competent and capable of building their own theories. Nurturing Confident, Caring and Curious children is our passion. |
