| Introduction | I’ve been trans-classed. Trans-classual? There’s got to be a word for it. The middle class used to be the noble class in America. Not rich, not poor. Just alright. Now we have an Upstairs/Downstairs two-class system. Corporations lobby as the "fourth branch" of government, for profit, while our popular vote is shipwrecked. As long as there is denial of the growing and devastating inequity, Upstairs is harder to finger and even harder to resist. I didn’t have to do anything good or bad or exotic to move down the class ladder. I thought if you stayed between the lines and applied yourself, your quality of life would maintain or improve. I was misinformed. Now, when you survive a reversal of fortune in just 2 of the following areas: family, health, job – you change classes. *SNAP* Just like that. What does it make for? Interesting times. What do you get? The best you can make of it. That’s what you get here. |
