| Introduction | I've been a stay at home mom, homeschooler, and now, back to work now that our boys are grown. Our youngest son developed Legg Perthes disease, a rare hip disease where loss of blood flow causes bone death. I started the first support group in the US for families dealing with perthes and it has grown to the largest worldwide. Contact me if you have a child with perthes and would like to connect with other parents. My husband and I also serve on the first faith-based search and rescue (SAR) team in the country.
