About me

Introduction When I was 18-years old, my mother died of breast cancer. She was 51. She never saw me graduate from college, start a career, get married or know my children. With time, I accepted all that. But when I hit middle age, I realized I never expected to live past 51. (I know, it's a bit morbid.) More importantly though, I realized I needed role models who inspire me to age gracefully. So this year, I set out to interview and feature 52 women - one for each week - who have faced tragedy, loss or illness and continue to thrive.
