| Introduction | Hello, my name is Laura. Given my young age, I have never really been involved in our government or politics. About a year ago I became a mother and am now becoming more interested in the world around me. I realized something I didn't before- decisions made by our government do affect me directly. This may seem like an obvious statement, but I guess government just wasnt at the top of my priority list when I was a care-free teenager. It is a goal of mine to become more educated about the people who control the life I live and run the country I live in. I recently came across the issue of childhood vaccinations. Is it safe to get my child vaccinated? I began to research the subject and now have a whole new view of our government. I am interested in what is behind all the smiles, good news and promises. Hopefully I can walk away from this class with a better understanding of our government. |
