| Introduction | Hello there! I'm a cemetery enthusiast who gives tours at Historic Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh NC. A native of a Chicago suburb, I've been exploring cemeteries since I was a kid. I have a BA in History from the University of Hawaii and an MA in Historical Administration. While in Hawaii I was the assistant researcher for the book Oahu Cemetery: Burial Ground and Historic Site by Nanette Napoleon, and in graduate school I studied Amish funeral customs extensively. I firmly believe that cemeteries, while being the final resting ground for our permanent residents, are also a place of beauty to be explored and appreciated. |
