| Introduction | I didn't start cycling until 2004 when I trained for my first triathlon and Escaped from Alcatraz, an 18 mile ride sandwiched between a 1.2 mile swim and an 8 mile run. Shortly after, I did the Tour de Cure for the American Diabetes Association, a 100km ride around the sf peninsula. I also ran the sf marathon, in which i concluded that cycling is far more enjoyable. Then in 2007, i joined Team Ligers in San Francisco's 2nd annual Oyster urban adventure race and placed first in the 6-pack division. After getting laid-off by J&J, I took the time to travel. I figure that I won't get many opportunities to travel months at a time. Since then, I have traveled all throughout Thailand and Costa Rica, learned how to speak spanish and to catch killer waves surfing. Next up, the U.S. of A. After the Big Ride ends, optometry school begins. I don't have much time to unwind as school starts 2 days later. |
