About me

GenderFemale
Occupationwriter, potter, parent, wife
Locationwestern Massachusetts
IntroductionCurrently, I live in the hills of western Massachusetts with my husband and two fat Labrador retrievers, Olive and Mabel. My husband and I have raised three wonderful children who have flown our coop. I am a retired teacher of young children with special needs waiting for grandchildren. I began writing with Genie Zeiger, author of a number of novels and poetry collections, such as How I Find Her and Radio Waves. At present I write with Ann McNelly, poet. In 2009 I was trained to be a writing workshop leader with Pat Schneider, author of Writing Alone and With Others. She developed a writing technique, The Amherst Writers and Artists Method, to give voice to the voiceless. I have been published frequently in two local newspapers, The Greenfield Recorder and The Shelburne Falls Independent. I have also been published in two anthologies, paniK: Candid Stories of Life Altering Experiences Surrounding Pregnancy, published by Lulu.com, and When One Door Closes – Reflections from Women on Life’s Turning Points, published by Sugati Publications. Notably, I was a contest winner in When One Door Closes. Mothering Magazine has also published one of my essays online.
