Introduction	Proceeds generated from this blog benefit my local parrot rescue and others -- if I get enough "proceeds." I live with nine companion parrots, all rescue birds, and four cats. Parrots: Nanday Conure Gigi, 6 yrs old; Gold Capped Conure Elmo, 13 yrs old; Parakeet Lucy, 3 yrs old; Mitred Conure Fred, 23 yrs old; Military Macaw Theodore, 5 1/2 yrs old; Senegal Beaker, 9 yrs old; Blue Front Amazon Callie, age unknown; Mealy Amazon Fred, age unknown; Military Macaw Aloisius, Allie for short, 14 yrs old. Cats: Sampson, Little Baby, Poopyhead and Oscar who co-habitate peacefully with the birds. Rescue volunteer; parrot advocate; animal lover; indoor / outdoor gardener; cook; reader with an insatiable curiosity about almost everything - except math.
