| Introduction | ARTIST STATEMENT My real name is Dana. I'm an average college student with an abundant amount of hope and dreams. Each day I wake, I approach life with an objective attitude and a curious mind. In the past, I've used makeup and hairstyling as my creative release. I've done editorial/fashion shoots, and special effects for film. Inspirations that have influenced me stem from American and international cultural experiences. Characters like Tim Burton and Roger Rabbit are of great value to me. They create a whole new realm to experience. (TIM burton + ROGER rabbit= alter ego, ROGER BURTON) All these impacts left me desiring to produce a world all of my own. I want to show my perspective about various issues; from people who live with autoimmune disease, to different takes on religion and philosophy, to what fantasy allows them to escape reality. Essentially I want to get to know various people, see why we function, interact, and do the things we do as individuals. And, hopefully I will get closer in defining who I am... Although I have a pretty good guess =) |
