IntroductionMy life change very suddenly when my husband Kevin of 38 years died suddenly of a heart attack while on holiday in Cape Town, South Africa in November 2007. We had many very memorable holidays in Africa and I felt I would like to help the people of Africa in some way. I knew the skill the tribesmen had in handcrafting a wide range of stunning, unique products. I also knew they were proud people and wanted to be able to feed, cloth and educate their children so I set about creating African Dream to give them employment and bring their unique products to Britain. It has been a long road with many pitfalls and problems to overcome, but I now keep 70 people employed and actively support three orphanages in Kenya. Because I source my products straight from the artist I ensure they get a fair price for their craft and they reward me with very high quality products, so if you are looking for and unusual gift, a unique piece of home decoration or a stunning piece of jewellery look no further than African Dream, and help keep the art of handcrafting alive in Africa
