| Introduction | As a storyteller, educator, friend, and father I find great joy in life. For the most part I enjoy doing activity that I call "nothing things" like sitting watching a sunset, a good conversation with a friend, riding my bike, playing with my grandchild, visiting my children, and even a nap. This appreciation of "nothing things" includes a love of beauty as found in nature and the arts. I believe this pleasure in beauty and doing "nothing things" is what makes me aware of the importance of making a difference in the world. When I travel I like going were I can participate in the life of the community and maybe in a little way make a difference. In my day-to-day life I am a crisis counselor and teach complementary health care skills such as meditation and the use of story to foster healing. I also am involved with the storytelling community though I do not do much performance work. Lastly, my volunteer work developing the Story Project for the Center of Victims of Torture (CVT) is one of my day-to-day activities that is close to my heart. Lastly, a new connection with Salusworld means a journey to Thailand to work with Burmese refugees. |
