| Introduction | My name is Darci Schipnewski and I am the owner of Shades of the Past Quilt Shop in a small rural Minnesota town. I began my sewing career by making cloth dolls under the name Darci's Dolls and spent many weekends vending at various craft shows around the state. After my husband bought a business place in his hometown I started dreaming about having my own quilt store--and my dream has become my reality. Shortly after starting the shop I began to dabble in designing my own patterns. Last spring I took my designs to International Quilt Market and now release my own self-published patterns under my own Pastthyme Patterns name. Many of my patterns use wool and wool felt, which is what I chose to specialize in when I opened up shop. The shop also carries many bolts of Moda fabrics--our favorite fabrics to sew with!! How wonderful that every day my daughter and I get to spend the day doing what we love--sewing! I hope you all enjoy the projects that we have to offer. Pieceful stitches to you all! |
