| Introduction | Hi!! My name is Anu. I am a Mithila artist living in Munich Germany, trying my hands at this wonderful folkart that I learnt growing up, when I saw my Mother and Grandmother trying to create this amazing art on walls and floors. I stayed in Madhubani for some time and was totally fascinated by the artists who flawlessly used their skills to create some masterpieces. I started doing this out of curiosity and motivation to learn, but never realized when I fell in love with its intricacies and it became my passion. So, now not a day goes by when I don´t paint. Maybe just a little scribble of idea, or devoting hours to complete a piece, I just enjoy every bit of it. As I studied design, it gives me an added advantage to create new motifs, new designs with my original ideas and concept. Well, my aim is to take this folkart ahead and spread its richness around Europe. |
