| Introduction | I'm Heather, a feminist housewife raising four sons and blogging about my life in order to remember it, reflect on it, filter through it, and share it. Family is the epicenter of that life, both in day-to-day activities and when I visit my therapist. I am a reluctant star, a gentle mother with anger issues, a borderline hoarder with purging tendencies, and a high school dropout who earned a Master's in Adult Education. |
Describe the sound of a moist waffle falling onto a hot griddle.
Sizzling, sealing, the telling hiss of cold crashing into a wave of heat. The smell of cast iron clad in the campfire and bacon grease dances with the unmistakable crooning of Patsy Cline in the kitchen. The children are full on life and blueberries and newness, laughter leaking down their faces. The griddle clanks unlocked, and the sound of gratitude washes the room in the form of "Me first!"s.
