Introduction	I started this blog because it annoys me to see that Kansas is NOT included in a list of states with a Democratic/progressive politics website! (to see the list of states that do have one, go to www.mydd.com). This is my idiosyncratic attempt to fill that vacuum. I'm on the "east coast" of the state, in the best little college town ever (Lawrence), where I am on the faculty. University attorneys would want you to know (as if you didn't already) that the opinions expressed here are mine and mine alone. While this blog is mostly about politics, I'll be writing about social welfare policy, and maybe a few things I shouldn't. Here in prairie country, where the name Lieberman is a little, uh, unusual, I often pre-empt the obvious when I introduce myself to others by quickly saying "no relation to Joe!"
