MRSA Necrotizing Pneumonia and Awake ECMO: Parent Perspective

Introduction	My 8-year-old daughter was on ECMO for 62.5 days while she waited for her lungs to recover from MRSA necrotizing pneumonia. She was extubated and awake for half of that time. This is a parent account of our time in the hospital and is meant to offer hope to other parents in similar situations. It was not written in real time, so at the time of writing, I had the benefit of knowing my child was going to be ok.
