Introduction We love when people ask what we do. Our response "I grow and sell grass" is usually met with guffaws. People stop laughing long enough to gasp, "No, really! What do you do?" "I grow grass retaining walls." As the concept registers: "What a cool idea!!" "Yeah, we know. Have you heard of Vetiver?" The blank stare generates a short intro which, without exception, blows people away. They're uniformly amazed by Vetiver's potential to help our Islands. And that's what keeps us going. We love this plant, just like thousands of others in the tropics and semi-tropics who are amazed at the number of Vetiver applications and appreciate its help. My nose introduced me to Vetiver's many uses. As Pele's Bath's soapmaker, I used Vetiver essential oil lavishly in my fragrance formulations. And now? The fragrance of a newly harvested row delights me. And, the same smell that tickles my olfactory sense repels the Formosan ground termite. Those nasty critters simply lose their appetite--for our houses--when they smell Vetiver's powerful earthy fragrance. Follow this blog, and check out others. Vetiver's potential is limitless! Do spread the word!!
