| Introduction | Aadhiyagai Paramez from Dindigul District in Tamilnadu, India “In 2012, I discontinued my engineering studies & decided to live with my parents in the village. Just in two years, I realized they were not making any profit. I decided to attend permaculture farming training at Nammalvar Ecological foundation in 2014 to learn basics of sustainable agriculture. We also learned the importance of preserving native seeds. So I started collecting traditional varieties of seeds of crops grown in Tamil Nadu. I also started services for setting up terrace gardens and home gardens. I distributed native seeds to these home gardeners and showed them how to save seeds. Over the past 4 years, we have conducted more than 200 kitchen garden workshops and trained over 5000 people.We have collected about 200 varieties of traditional seeds.We also distribute small packs of native seeds to use as return gifts for weddings.
